Hi.

Welcome to my blog

Tell Me Something Good

Tell Me Something Good

It has become clear, being kind or finding the positivity in life is becoming difficult. Over the past two years, I’ve seen many people find every reason to be negative or give up completely. And I understand life threw us a curve ball, but that doesn’t mean we give up.

Life was always filled with ups and downs, the pandemic was just another challenge for us to concur. Life continues regardless of what is happening in the world. Why not try to spend your time remaining positive or looking for the good we still have around us?

Over the years, I have lost several important people. I was told they sent you signs from above, to remind you they are always with you and watching over. Specifically, I’ve been told my family sends me dimes, pennies and butterflies.

Okay, so how common are these things to find daily? And how likely are they to be just that, things?  Very likely, however they make me smile when I see them and I always think of someone I love. So, even if they are just objects, why can’t we believe in the good the world possesses?

One day, I was hiking and cut the back of my foot open. A random hiker stopped and gave me Neosporin and a Band-aid. That was all, simply an act of kindness. So, why can’t we believe in the good people possess?

We seem to have lost the faith in humanity, that good no longer exists in the world. But why? I ask because I see it every day… in strangers on the streets to people in my own life. Whether someone let me out in traffic or someone sent me an, “How are you?” Text.

We are so focused on the bad things in life, we ignore all the small but powerful signs of hope in our everyday lives. Why doesn’t it matter when someone makes a kind gesture but didn’t brag about it on social media? Or when someone is a good friend and is there during another person’s breakdown?

We ignore the kindness that still exists in this world. If you just opened your eyes, you would see what I am talking about. When is the last time you woke up early and sat on your porch with no cell phone or talking and just listened? Just remained still and present to your surroundings.

If we all take the mindset of being negative, the result won’t end in a positive one. We have the ability to be so great, if only we took the time to see the beauty in the pain. Next time you see someone, tell them something good. Share something that makes you smile. Smile at them, wave.

It’s not that we don’t know bad exists in the world, but if you have the option to be positive or negative, why not choose to be positive? The world needs more kindness, be someone who is kind.
